An English family went to Germany on vacation.
Not only were they impressed with the landscape and culture but with people and costumes as well.
Everything to them was breathtaking!
During one of their walks, they saw a lovely country house for rent.
The cottage seemed to be very suitable to spend their next summer vacations at.
No wonder! It was near Heidelberg.
After some inquires they discovered the owner, who happened to be a German Catholic Priest.
They had a long talk and arranged to rent the house for the following summer.
Back in England, the family was in an upheaval.
Non-stop chatting about the gorgeous property they were pretty keen on.
However, all of a sudden, Lady Henrietta recalled that she had not seen the restroom.
In fact, none of them had.
Confirming the practical sense of british people, they decided to write to the priest, to ask for some details about the issue, immediately.
The letter was like that:
Dear father,
I am one of the members of the English family who has just visited your propriety in order to rent it for the next summer vacation.
We had, however, forgotten to ask you a question, so that we would be very grateful, if you could inform us where the W.C. is placed.
The priest, completely misunderstanding the meaning of W.C. and reckoning it meant "White Chapel", answered in that way:
I have the pleasure to communicate that the referred place you have mentioned in your letter, is situated about 2 miles from the house.
It is a very comfortable place.
If you are used to going frequently, I advise to bring same food, to enable you to spend the whole day there.
Some are used to going on foot, although, there are some who prefer going by bicycle.
The place can hold 400 people seated and 100 standing.
I recommend you come early; otherwise it will be difficult to find a place to sit.
Everyone sings in chorus.
A piece of paper is distributed to each person in the beginning; nevertheless, if you arrive late, after the distribution, you may use your neighbour's.
This paper must be returned in the end to be used the whole month.
There are sound amplifiers and what is left over in the end, is given to the poor.
Specialized photographers are available to take photos for the local newspaper, to allow everyone in town to be aware of such human duty performance.
